Cloudstreet chronicles the lives of 2 fictional Australian families, the Lambs and the Pickles, who come from very different rural backgrounds in country Western Australia. Through a series of separate tragedies, both families come to live in the same sad-looking house at No 1 Cloud Street, Perth. Set over 20 years, from the tail end of the Second World War through to the mid 1960's, Cloudstreet follows both families' lives during that time. It follows their highs and lows, their joy and pain, fortune and failure and their laughter, love and loss.
