Four thousand years ago, a young girl had her baby taken from her by her husband, who feared the baby would grow to kill him one day. Mourning the baby she believes to be dead, she spends the next eighteen years in bitterness and revenge until an accident makes her a widow. Then, almost as a reward for her years of pain, a young man comes into her life. With love and passion they construct not only a marriage and family, but a thriving kingdom. But truth will out and ultimately, she has to pay for the years of happiness she has constructed with the man who was not only her husband, but her son.
And in this century, a cosmetics queen, who was forced to give up her baby when she was fifteen, faces a decision about the younger man she has been happily married to for many years.
